Haviland Designs specialise in supplying artwork, frames and mirrors to the hotel, leisure and interior design industries worldwide.
A stronger visual identity was required to better promote these different activities to a wider range of clients, and to create a strong parent brand to support the marketing of subsidiary product line the Alhambra Plaque Collection.
From the previous calligraphic mark, the typography was updated and the hierarchy changed to put more emphasis on the company name, making ‘Designs’ more of a descriptor.
A hand-drawn abstract background pattern was used to represent the diverse design styles of the company’s work, and is also intended to be interchangeable for subsequent sister identities (see Alhambra Plaques).
Gold foiling was used on the stationery adding a level of sophistication, and to show the wide variety of Haviland’s work a number of different images were printed on the reverse of the business cards.
A simple website was also created focusing on the three main areas of frames, art and sculpture, and mirrors. As most of Haviland’s work is custom-made to order rather than set products, the creation of an extensive gallery section of past projects was very important to show the full range of skills and design possibilities.
